Journey to New Zealand’s Forgotten World

St. John’s Orphanage aka the Goulburn Boys Orphanage can be found in Goulburn, just north east of Canberra in Australia. First opened by the Sisters of Mercy About in 1912, the orphanage housed an approximately 2,500 boys until its closure in 1978. According to reports, those housed there during the war years have gone through some difficult times and were often punished.
