Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Hawaii is famous around the world for its pristine beaches and luxury resorts. But there is another side to this island paradise that is even more impressive. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is on the Big Island. It is a stark contrast to the sun-drenched, sandy shores of Oahu and Maui. The park is home to Kīlauea, the world’s most active volcano. Follow the Chain of Craters road, 9km of which closed because of the flowing lava. Watch as lava clashes with the Pacific Ocean in an unforgettable, volatile display.

Lauterbrunnen Valley

Lauterbrunnen is one of the world’s most beautiful destinations. It is a place like no other. It sits in a valley of 72 waterfalls, nestled at the base of a towering cliff face. The name Lauterbrunnen translates to “many fountains”. Don’t miss Trümmelbach Falls and Staubbach Falls. Some of the best scenic walking trails in Switzerland begin in Lauterbrunnen. Wind your way through the huge mountain range and stop in at beautiful Swiss villages.

White Sands National Monument

You may not expect to find white sand reminiscent of a tropical beach in the desert. Yet, you could stumble upon that in New Mexico. White Sands National Monument is in the Chihuahuan Desert. A great way to see the gypsum dunes is to go hiking. There are five scenic trails leading through the park. The region is ever-changing. Some of the active dunes in the area can move up to 30 feet per year. No matter what season you visit, the park is a fascinating destination.

Waitomo Glowworm Caves

The Waitomo Glowworm Caves are a tourist hot spot in New Zealand. Visitors have fantastic views of the native glow worms that line the limestone walls. The glow worms are throughout many cave systems. Sail through the Glowworm Grotto on a guided boat tour. Also explore the Ruakuri Caves and see the glow worms from a different perspective. Auyuittuq National Park

Climbers have been scaling the rocky face of Thor Peak for many years.

Whitehaven Beach

Hill Inlet on Whitsunday Island has become one of Queensland‘s most iconic sights. If you are visiting Australia, do not miss the chance to explore Whitehaven Beach. The beach has some of the purest, white sand in the world. The Tongue Point lookout is a fantastic place to get a view of the dramatic inlet.

If the challenging Angel’s Landing trail is not for you, there is much more to see in Zion. Hike between the cliffs on the stunning Narrows trail, or visit the Emerald Pools.

Peyto Lake

The Canadian Rockies are not short of incredible attractions. Peyto Lake is another example of the region’s stunning natural scenery. Summer is the peak time to visit the lake when it turns a perfect shade of blue. You can find the beautiful glacier-fed lake in Banff National Park. Don’t miss this stop along the Icefields Parkway!
