Meet Our Team: Claire Boyd – Project Director

VroomVroomVroom is excited to introduce you to another member of our team. Claire Boyd is the Project Director of the Vroom Group, and has been part of the team for more than five years. Having previously worked as a strategic development manager in the property sector, Claire’s love of building systems and implementing them with the support of a global team led her to work in the travel and insurance sectors with VroomVroomVroom.

Claire’s first job was working on the family farm in Stanthorpe picking raspberries and blackberries during school holidays, learning to work hard and efficiently. Claire says her favourite thing about now being a part of the Vroom family is the caring culture.

“I have never experienced such a genuine, warm and supportive environment before to the point that I thought it wasn’t real when I first joined. But many years later, the culture and amazing group of people who power Vroom remain constant.”

What is your favourite road trip destination?

Noosa. It’s an easy weekend drive from Brisbane but far enough to enjoy the journey. I love the beauty of Noosa National Park and the walking tracks along the coastline. It’s a great escape from city living.

Best driving song?

Empire State of Mind (Jay-Z and Alicia Keys).  This song inspires me to think big vision and dream.

Ideal car to drive?

Probably my own car, an Audi sQ5.

What is your best car rental tip?

Make sure that you check the vehicle carefully for existing damage and take your own photos and videos before leaving the car park. If the damage does not match, work with a car rental company representative to mark it up on the damage report before starting your journey.

City or country driving?

Country. The wide open highways in Australia are so peaceful and quiet.

Suitcase or backpack?

Suitcase. Carry on only if possible.

Mountains or beach?

Mountains. I love the snow capped mountains in Queenstown. Such a magical spot.

Summer or winter?

Winter. Growing up in Queensland, I love to escape the heat.

Morning or evening?

Morning. It’s so quiet and peaceful to get things done before the rest of the household wakes.

Coffee or tea?

Coffee. Espresso or a flat white depending on whether I’m on the run or have the time to sip and savour.

Book or movie?

Hmm neither. I struggle to sit through a whole movie and have a bad habit of falling asleep when trying to read. I have good intentions of trying audio books in the near future.

Comedy or horror?

Cats or dogs?

Sweet or salty?

Both. Sweet first!

Favourite travel quote?

I don’t have a travel quote however I believe travel is such an important part of life. It helps us to learn and understand the world that we live in, build tolerance and inspire us.
