The 7 Hardest Places to Obtain Your Driver’s License

United Kingdom: According to 1Driver, you need to apply for a provisional license, pass the DVSA theory before you can take the practical driving test. For getting a provisional license, payment is £34.00 (if you pay online) or £43.00 (if you apply by post). The cost of a theory test is £23.00, while you will need to pay £62.00 to book your practical driving test.

Finland: Finnish drivers need to complete the driving instruction which consists of three phases: the basic, practice and advanced. Only when they have completed their basic instruction can they take theory and practical driving tests, as stated by the Finnish Transport Safety Agency,

Singapore: To get a license, drivers need to take the Basic and Final Theory Tests, complete the 20-25 lessons and logging time with an instructor and pass both the Final Driving Theory and Practical Driving Test, according to MoneySmart Singapore,

Japan: According to Lookers, drivers need to stay at 30kph (19mph) or under during the entire practical test or they will  fail immediately. Failure to stop at a traffic light is an instant fail. Drivers will also be penalized if they do not stay in the far left lane or for not bending down low enough to check for cats or children before driving off.

South Africa: Before applying for a driving license, a driver must have a learners licence, as stated by the South African Government. Parallel parking as well as alley docking are some of the things that could appear in a test.

Germany: Keep in mind that “There is a high rate of failure for this test, “according to The German Way and More as “you’ll need the book. If you don’t pass the test on your third attempt, you have to go back to Fahrschule [driving school].” In addition to that, young German drivers are required to take “14 theory classes and 12 driving lessons.”

Saudi Arabia: According to the Dallah Driving school, at least 590 SAR is the amount you need to get a driving license, which is valid for 10 years.
