VW Group fans at the Wörthersee car show last week may have seen the future of sport utility vehicles: the Audi Q3 with built-in camping tent and kayak rack! The alpine lake called The Wörthersee and the town of Reifnitz in Carinthia, Austria, has hosted the world’s largest Volkswagen and Audi car show every May since 1981.

This year, the German concept design of an inflatable tent for the Q3 attracted a lot of attention. It doesn’t have to be pitched and the setup time from start to finish is 7 minutes. Once in place, reported Mihnea Radu of www.autoevolution.com, the tent will withstand winds of up to 70 km/h (43.5 mph).

The tent fastens to the Q3’s open tailgate, allowing campers to listen to the vehicle’s stereo. The complete story is here: Audi Q3 Shows Its Outdoorsy Side with Camping Tent at Worthersee 2014

So would you buy one of these? Would you rent one, if the rental car companies add them to their fleets? Let us know your opinions on this concept vehicle in the Disqus box below!
